Reiki/Breathwork

Reiki is a form of energy healing that originated in Japan in the early 1900s and uses what is known as universal life force energy, ki or qi, to improve lives and ailments.  Using gentle touch to direct life force energy through the practitioner to the client, Reiki promotes accelerated healing, decreased stress, and brings balance to the body.  Studies have shown that Reiki can foster tissue and bone healing after injury or surgery, stimulate your body’s immune system, promote self-healing, and relieve pain and tension.  Reiki practitioners focus on sensing energy blocks and moving the energy for the greatest good of the client.

Hillary Burton has been a teacher her entire adult life.  After going through a spiritual awakening in her late 30’s, she found the practice of “pranasana,” which is yoga on the energy body.  She studied all 8 limbs of yoga as well as the light body of which is spoken in ancient Yogic texts which is a deeper practice beyond the physical exercise of western yoga classes.  The practice of yoga has transformed Hillary’s life, health, and spirit and she is eager to share that gift of yoga with others to help regulate the nervous system through breath.

In her sessions, Hillary likes to combine sound with Reiki healing.  These sessions can be designed to work on specific blocks, health concerns, or traumas that you may want to release or direct energy.   Together you can explore where energy is trapped in the body as well as balance your energy centers (chakras) which will support your healing and growth.  Through the use of tuning forks during the session, together you can bring movement to the lymph system as well as relaxing certain muscles and areas of the body through the power of vibration.  It is truly a healing experience for both your physical and energetic body!
