Gymnastics is hard. Gymnasts are rarely without any aches or pains, but our goal is to mitigate those and prevent more severe injuries that force you to modify your training. Our goal at The PEAAC is to focus on prevention and healing before your performance is affected.

Services, such as:
- Consult with an experienced Sports Medicine Physician who has worked with the Michigan gymnastics teams, the Utah gymnastics team, and USA Gymnastics.
- Use the gymnastics equipment in our gym (low beam, mini tramp, air track, ballet barre, balance machine) to demonstrate your technique and guide your individualized return-to-gym progression.
- Analysis of your technique by a medical practitioner experienced in treating gymnasts to identify potential fatigue/stress areas before injury occurs.
- Access to strength and conditioning coaches to increase muscle support and flexibility.
- Work with physical therapists, chiropractors, and whole health professionals to aid in injury recovery.
- Consult a nutritionist/dietician to better fuel your body for peak performance.
- Build mindful body awareness and flexibility through Pilates and yoga.
- Conduct supervised physical therapy workouts
- Improve mental skills to manage performance expectations and confidence, compete under pressure, and bounce back from injury.
Dr. Sara Walker has served as a team physician for the University of Michigan and the University of Utah gymnastics teams (including multiple Pac-12 Championships and NCAA Regionals) as well as USA Gymnastics (including American Classic, US Classic, and US National Championships). She has worked with athletes in multiple gymnastics disciplines at all levels.
